Music groups and organizations I love:

  • Caffe Vivace Coffee bar by day, jazz lounge by night, this venue brings together emerging local jazz artists in a unique, intimate space
  • Cincinnati Camerata An all volunteer choral group, including yours truly. We perform about 4 concerts each year.
  • Cincinnati Choral Society – Founded in 1974, it is Cincinnati’s premier nonprofit community choral organization, advocating for great musical performances and experiences for singers and audiences throughout the city
  • Cincinnati May Festival – Established in 1873, it is the oldest continually-operating choral festival in the Western Hemisphere. Brings together the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, May Festival Chorus and international soloists to perform popular large-scale choral-orchestral works. Recent music directors of the festival have included such eminent figures as James Conlon (who served for over 30 years) and Juanjo Mena
  • Cincinnati Opera -Founded in 1920, it is the second oldest opera company in the United States. Performing primarily in the months of June and July, it has performed at Cincinnati Music Hall since 1972
  • Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra The big one of Cincinnati music since 1895. Cincinnati is truly blessed to have a orchestra that is one of the best in the nation.
  • Cincinnati Youth Choir – Education-based choral organization including singers from 1st-12th grade across 5 ensembles
  • concert:nova Chamber music performances featuring musicians from the Cincinnati Symphony with an explorative, creative twist
  • Fluidity – Community choral ensemble dedicated to performances raising funds for local non-profit organizations. Recent performances have included a collaboration with the Queen City Street Choir at Christ Church Cathedral
  • Great Music in a Great Space – Concert series organized by the Cathedral-Basilica of St. Peter-in-Chains bringing some of the finest local and international sacred vocal artists to Cincinnati.
  • Heri et Hodie Women’s vocal ensemble specializing in medieval and contemporary music
  • Hyde Park Organ Concert Series – Established in 2003, this concert series brings some of the finest organ soloists from around the world to perform at Hyde Park Community United Methodist Church on its much-loved Casavant pipe organ. Recent soloists have included Paul Jacobs, Renee Anne Louprette, Damin Spritzer and Katelyn Emerson
  • Jazz at MEMO – Weekly concert series at Memorial Hall celebrating the versatility of local and regional jazz artists. Past performers have included Queen City Cabaret and the Phil DeGreg Trio
  • Linton Chamber Music Series – Founded by clarinetist and visual artist Dick Waller in 1978, this concert series brings together musicians from the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and rising national and international musicians to play chamber music in the intimate First Unitarian Church of Cincinnati
  • Matinee Musicale – Cincinnati’s oldest chamber music concert series, founded in 1911; it highlights rising stars in the classical music world through solo performances and educational outreach by funding grants and scholarships to student instrumentalists in high school and college
  • MUSE: Cincinnati’s Women’s Choir – Advocates for social justice and peace through music
  • Queen City Cabaret Led by principal artists Sarah Folsom and Matthew Umphries, this group helps bring the sounds and stories of the Great American Songbook and contemporary pop music to a wider audience
  • Xavier Music Series One of the longest running music concert series in Cincinnati, covering Piano, Classical Guitar and Jazz
  • Vocal Arts Ensemble Cincinnati’s premier chamber choir, with a focus on contemporary music and well-known choral masterpieces
  • Young Professionals Choral Collective – Brings together a roster of over 1,200 people ages 21-45 who share a love of music, performance and socializing
